To interact with the Avalanche blockchain and DApps, you will need a compatible cryptocurrency wallet, like MetaMask. However, you must first add the Avalanche network to your MetaMask wallet before using Avalanche tokens. This tutorial will show you how to go about doing it.
Note: If you’re already using the Avalanche network, keep in mind that MetaMask only works with the C-Chain wallet. Your tokens must be in your C-Chain wallet in order to transfer AVAX from your Avalanche wallet.
I. How to set up MetaMask?
MetaMask is a cryptocurrency wallet that can be downloaded on Chrome and Firefox as a browser extension or as an App on iOS and Android devices. It provides a simple interface for consumers to store and transact crypto.
If you already have a MetaMask wallet, go ahead to the next step to learn how to link it to Avalanche and add AVAX tokens to it. If you don’t have a MetaMask wallet yet, follow these instructions to set it up.
II. How to connect Avalanche to MetaMask?
The Ethereum Mainnet is connected by default in the MetaMask wallet. Please complete these steps to add Avalanche to your wallet.
